GMA Network launches 2nd International Channel

February 18, 2008

Leading broadcast company GMA Network has officially launched its second international channel, GMA LIFE TV, last February 16, 2008.

First to be seen in Japan via IPS Access TV, GMA LIFE TV offers more than just mainstream entertainment and is set to engage more viewers with its exciting line-up of heart-warming and innovative programs that feature the Filipinos' lifestyle and interests.

“We at GMA Network are proud to announce the launch of our second international channel, GMA Life TV. Our first channel, GMA Pinoy TV, continues to be well received by a growing number of our kababayans overseas and has served to bridge the distance between them and their friends and families back home,” said GMA Network EVP and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr.

“The launch of GMA Life TV is cause for excitement and gratification as the new channel enables us to offer even more of the finest Filipino programs available while bringing our countrymen abroad even closer to home,” Duavit added.

GMA LIFE TV’s program roster includes shows from Q TV such as The Sweet Life (Lucy Torres-Gomez, together with Wilma Doesnt); Proudly Filipina (Charlene Gonzalez-Mulach); Chef to Go (Chef Rob Pengson); Day-off (Carmina Villaroel and Pekto); Moms (Manilyn Reynes, Lani Mercado and Sherilyn Reyes); Ka-Toque (Chefs Rosebud Benitez, Mitchie Sison, Darlo Lopez, Jonah Trinidad, JL Cang and Niño Logarta); and Maging Akin Ka Lamang (Nadine Samonte, Polo Ravales, Carlo Aquino and Isabel Oli).

The network’s first international channel – GMA PINOY TV, on the other hand, airs most of the current top-rating programs from the Philippines which are winners in their time blocks. It is currently available in Japan, Singapore, Guam, Papua New Guinea, Saipan, Middle East, North Africa, British Indian Ocean Territory, Canada and the United States.
