Unlike most kids her age, 8-year old TV host Ryzza Mae Dizon is not wishing for candies and toys this Christmas. But there’s one thing she hopes to achieve before the year ends: she wants to interview the President of the Republic of the Philippines Benigno S. Aquino III or “PNoy” on her daily morning talk show, “The Ryzza Mae Show.”
This is what the 2012 Little Ms. Philippines winner told GMANetwork.com in an interview during the taping of the Halloween episode of “Vampire Ang Daddy Ko,” a sitcom on GMA wherein the child star is also a cast member.
Although PNoy’s guesting on Ryzza Mae’s show is very unlikely considering the president’s very hectic schedule, the young TV host is not losing hope. In fairness to her, she has interviewed several showbiz bigwigs and popular news personalities including industry legends Susan Roces, German Moreno and Helen Gamboa; multi-awarded actresses Lorna Tolentino, Maricel Soriano, Jaclyn Jose, Kris Aquino and Judy Ann Santos; kontra-vidas Celia Rodriguez and Gladys Reyes; and journalists Mike Enriquez and Jessica Soho.
A few weeks ago, the president’s sister Kris Aquino and his nephew Baby James or “Bimby” guested on Ryzza’s show partly to promote Ryzza and Bimby’s movie – their first together – which is set to screen in theatres in December. In return, Ryzza also guested on Kris’ morning talk show in another network.
Despite the “language barrier,” Ryzza seemed to enjoy the interview with Bimby. Her co-hosts in the noontime show “Eat Bulaga” began to tease her that she has a crush on the Presidential nephew. Ryzza, however, denies this saying that she and Bimby are only good friends.
Ryzza also shared that she and Bimby usually pass the time in between takes by playing “Bato Bato Pick,” which is the former’s favorite game. Ryzza said that whenever she plays it with Bimby, they would call it “Rock, Paper and Scissors” adding that her nose would bleed each time (because it’s in English – that’s the joke).
Asked who usually wins the game? Ryzza answered that it was always Bimby. “Pero kasi dinadaya niya e. ‘Pag ako bato yung kanya gunting, [ginagawa niyang bato rin yung kanya],” said Ryzza.
Apart from traditional games, Ryzza also loves to play apps like “Temple Run” and “Candy Crush” on her iPad. However, her time for playing games is more limited now since she needs to maximize her time for both work and studies.
Ryzza attends regular primary school and does her homework on the set. “May assignment pa nga po ako e,” she told GMANetwork.com.
For more of Ryzza Mae Dizon, watch “The Ryzza Mae Show” (Mon-Fri after “Anak Ko Yan!”), “Eat Bulaga” (Mon-Sat at 12:00nn) and “Vampire Ang Daddy Ko” (every Saturday evening) on GMA Network.
