Aside from GMA-7 being the viewers’ preferred on-air news source for the inauguration of President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo last June 30, 2016, more Filipinos also followed GMA News and Public Affairs’ PANATA SA PAGBABAGO online.

According to industry metrics source Effective Measure, GMA News Online was the most viewed Filipino news website during the inauguration—garnering 7,191,930 page views on that day alone.

Netizens who visited the site were treated to the wall-to-wall coverage that included behind the scenes photos, videos, and stories from the Duterte inauguration, the new president's inaugural address to the country, and the incoming administration's first Cabinet meeting.

GMA News Online had a lead of nearly 1.7 million page views over its closest competitor, ABS-CBNNews.com, which garnered 5,495,926 page views according to Effective Measure.

The PANATA SA PAGBABAGO microsite on GMA News Online, which carried a live feed of the event, also won big with 71,484 page views, compared to the 40,972 page views generated by the ABS-CBNNews.com microsite for the same event.

Meanwhile, the PANATA SA PAGBABAGO Facebook livestream and archived videos (facebook.com/gmanews/videos<http://facebook.com/gmanews/videos>) reached total video views of 1.23 million as of 5 p.m. of July 4. On Twitter, GMA's coverage hashtag #Du30saJune30 was also the most talked about topic here in the Philippines as well as being the top trending topics worldwide during inauguration day.
