GMA Network Excellence Award expands to recognize two outstanding students

 

 

GMA Network Excellence Award (GNEA), the Network’s  Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, is set to recognize two outstanding students in this year’s rollout.

 

On its 15th year, GMA Network strengthened its ties with its partners via the signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) held on  April 6 at the GMA Network Center. 

Joining GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon in the MOA signing were Dr. Elena E. Pernia, President of University of the Philippines, College of Mass Communication Foundation, Inc., Dr. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles, President of Angeles University Foundation, Engr. Emmanuel Averilla, Deputy Director for Institutional Affairs, Don Bosco Technical College, Pebbles Sanchez, Executive Director of YesPinoy Foundation, Inc., and Ariel Agcaoili, Comptroller of Airfreight 2100, Inc.

Benjamin Alves also attended the event as the ambassador of GNEA for the second consecutive year.

He was pleased to announce, “We’re expanding the GMA Network Excellence Award para mas marami pa pong students ang ma-accommodate namin. This year for the first time, we’re giving out two awards. Two GNEA Awards for students [graduating this school year] 2016-2017.”

For this year, two awardees shall be chosen (one from Communication and one from Technology-based courses).

Benjamin remarked, “It’s gonna be a lot more time consuming but very rewarding. That means that more students will be recognized, and we’re gonna have two people that are gonna be recognized as an Excellence awardees.”

“Mas maraming awardees, mas maraming mabibigyan ng recognition, mas marami kaming matutulungan na mga advocacies ng mga students natin,” he added.

The GNEA search is open to graduating student of Mass Communication, Multimedia Arts, Advertising, as well as Electronics and Communications Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering. The aspirant must be graduating with honors, and  active in socio-civic activities.
