A brand new car and condo, a flourishing showbiz career and thousands of adoring fans, Jillian Ward has indeed accomplished more than the average five-year-old. Kapuso child actress Jillian Ward debuted on television via the Fanataserye The Last Prince. But when she bagged the title role in the remake of Trudis Liit, showbiz offers came pouring in. Now a household name, Jillian will soon star with Senator Bong Revilla Jr. and ace comedian Vic Sotto in a Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry this year. “Ako po si Bebeng ang madaldal at makulit na iyaking bata,” says Jillian when we asked her about her role in the Bong Revilla-Vic Sotto starrer. She said that she looks forward to being part of the MMFF and wishes that she’ll win in the Best Child Actress category. “Iyon po ang Christmas wish ko kasi pupunta kami sa America kapag nanalo ako ng Best Child Actress,” confesses Jillian matter-of-factly. Quite determined, it seems no one can stop her from winning this award. In fact, she has her ‘Thank You’ speech ready just in case she actually wins. “Thank you everybody for Trudis Liit and for supporting Trudis Liit. At saka sa Agimat ni Enteng. Panoorin nyo po siya sa December 25. Sa 25, ha, tandaan niyo. Thank you po.” Aside from the MMFF movie, Jillian is also slated to be part of the prime time series Mars Ravelo’s Captain Barbel with of course none other than GMA hunk Richard Gutierrez. According to the grapevine, the young actress will portray the sidekick of the well-loved Filipino superhero. Truly, this year has been full of blessings for this young Kapuso. To top it all, she will soon have a baby brother or sister. “Buntis sya (referring to her mom). Parang boy daw kasi patusok hindi palapad (her mom’s tummy).” Now, who would expect that comment from a five-year-old? A movie, a prime time series, a new sibling and thousands of followers, Jillian might not realize it yet, but it seems Christmas has indeed arrived early this year.
