LJ Reyes, who won the Best Actress award in the 39th Gawad Urian, admitted to struggling in composing her thoughts during her acceptance speech. To make up for it, she posted an Instagram entry to thank those to whom she attributes her success to.
 
First, she honored the Lord for her unexpected victory and proceeded to thanking the people in her life – her son Aki, her mom and the rest of her family, her rumored boyfriend Paolo Contis, her friends, the people she worked with in Anino sa Likod ng Buwan and her GMA Artist Center family, among others. 

 

Napakabait ni Lord sakin!!! It is by His grace that I have been given this recognition so I may glorify His name! In Proverbs 3:5-6, it says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path." Mahirap rin po pala magpasalamat on stage dahil sa shock! Haha! Wala po akong maalala sa mga sinabi ko! Kaya dito nalang po... Thank you Gawad Urian for this honorable recognition! Hindi ko po ito makakalimutan! Thank you to my son, Aki, who is always my source of inspiration, motivation, joy, strength, love and so much more!!! I wanted to say his name last night but I might choke in tears! Naalala ko kasi that he wanted to come with me. Kaso may pasok na sya and I couldn't let him sleep late. Sabi ko next time nalang. Haha kaya sana may next time so I can keep my promise to Aki! Nafeel bad ako na hindi ko sya napasama. I love you so much my dearest baby boy! Thank you to my mama na kahit nandun sa New York walang tigil magmessage sakin to get updates! Haha! My mother is the most hardworking person I have ever known! And she has supported me in every single endeavor in my life! I love you mama! Alam mo naman lahat ng gusto kong sabihin diba? To my family, thank you for the unfailing love and support you all have for me! Kayo ang lakas ko! Hinding hindi ko kayo ipagpapalit sa kahit ano sa mundong ito! Thank you sa mga taong nagmamahal sakin. @paolo_contis, salamat sa suporta at pagaalaga! I sincerely appreciate everything you do! Sa mga kaibigan ko na nagtext at nagpaabot ng pagbati, maraming salamat! Thank you to the whole staff and crew of Anino sa Likod ng Buwan! Thank you to GMA @artistcenter! Ms. Gigi, thank you for the support and guidance, most especially on those times when I needed you most! Sa aking aligagang handler @jazelah na kung magoffice hanggang midnight! Joke lang! Haha Ms. Meann and Ate Xyza thank you for coming with me last night! Thank you ate @tracybaky! @monicsevi sana nandito ka!!! Thank you to my ever reliable friend and stylist John Paul Dizon for last minute glamming up!!!! Mahal kita bessy!!! At maraming salamat po sa lahat ng sumusuporta!??

Her fellow nominees were Nora Aunor, Anika Dolonius, Angeli Bayani, Alessandra de Rossi, Ces Quesada, Jennylyn Mercado and Mercedes Cabral.
 
The awards night was held yesterday, June 22 at the Kia Theatre in Araneta Center, Cubao.
