“Dedicated ‘to sa lahat ng mahal namin sa buhay, na sana paggising namin, nandun pa rin sila”  - TOP

Mico Cruz, Joshua Jacobe, Miko Manguba, Adrian Pascual and Louie Pedroso collectively known as Kapuso boy band Top One Project (T.O.P.) recently performed their song Paggising on the Playlist stage.

Louie explained their interpretation of the song written and arranged by Chino David and vocally arranged by Moy Ortiz.

“Most OPM songs ‘di ba about love? [So is] Paggising. It talks about love. In the start, ayaw niya, tapos in the end, hinahanap-hanap na niya. Tipong sana when he wakes up, katabi [na] niya [siya],” he shared.

The boys of T.O.P. do not dedicate it to someone in particular but to their family, fans and friends who have been supportive of their journey so far.

“Dedicated ‘to sa lahat ng mahal namin sa buhay, na sana paggising namin, nandun pa rin sila,” he added.

As a boy band starting out, they hope to be able to etch their name in the industry and offer a new and memorable type of music.

“We’re trying to do away with [stereotypical] boy band music,” Joshua shared.

At the same time, Miko M. emphasized that they want to showcase the skillfulness of Filipino musicians.

“[We want to deliver] that unique Filipino sound [and showcase the greatness of] OPM,” he noted.
