"42 years of drought and now it finally reigns." A year ago, I was blessed with this title. I know that most of you feel like the year has gone by so quickly but it's actually the opposite for me. My year as Miss Universe felt longer than that. Without sounding too corny but I think it's because so much happened. It's filled with memories for a lifetime. The best ones are the life lessons I learned the hard way. ???? But even when things gets tough it's really your love that keeps me pushing forward. Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is counting the days until she passes on her crown to her successor who will resume her duties and responsibilities.

Her year may come to a close but the 2015 winner will still be around to work close with the Miss Universe organization due to her contracts and commitments which go beyond after her reign.

“I’m very lucky that I still have a lot of work lined up after Miss Universe. In fact, my February is booked [for] the whole month. [It’s] good [that] the work continues on,” Queen P said in her Facebook Live video wherein she joked about coming back to the office and handing her resumé for her current job.

Pia will definitely miss the people she got to work with all throughout her reign as Miss Universe. She cited her manager Esther Swan [for] “e-mailing me my itinerary everyday, our travels, our long talks in the airplane, [and] our food [trips].”

The Filipina beauty queen also remembered Miss Universe president Paula Shugart who she sees as her mom and boss, for giving her pieces of advice and life lessons.

Lastly, Shawn McClain, vice president of business development and marketing, "for his hard work, in making sure I get the right endorsements with the right people, [and] that I’m connected with the right people.”

“Everybody in the Miss Universe organization, I think, played a big role in making my reign memorable, and I’m really glad I got to work with everybody. I’m really grateful and I hope I didn’t give you guys a headache,” she said.
