Be inspired by what Bettinna wrote and find out how lucky Gummy is to have such a wonderful mom.  

For the first day of February, Bettinna Carlos published a letter in Manila Times expressing her love for her daughter Gummy.

The letter started off with, "Dear Gummy, These are the things Mummy wants you to start learning and remembering very early on in life."

In the letter, Bettinna reminds her daughter that life comes with disappointments even from the people she love and trust. Despite the pain, forgiveness should emanate.

“In life, people will always disappoint you and hurt you unknowingly. People will fail you. Even Mummy will fail you and say things that will hurt you. It is because we are human and therefore we will always make mistakes. I want you to know that when people let you down, you must forgive them.”

The Kapuso star noted that not everything we want will be given. Sometimes a “no” is a promise of God that something better will come. 

She said, “The things that we need are not always pleasant and beautiful. At times they are painful and ugly. Because some things we learn best through going through difficult times. I want you to know that through your joy and pain, Jesus is with you.”

“When you have those momentary doubts, let me remind you that we are human and God is God. Because of our mortal limitations, we can never fully understand why but we can always put our trust in the God who loves us so much that He only wants what is best for us.” Bettinna continued.

Life will never be easy so Bettinna advised Gummy to seek the answers from the Bible when she feels lost.  

Bettinna disclosed how much she loves Gummy and that she is loved by God who knew her before she was born. Bettinna wrote, “I want you to know Gummy that you are beautiful, you are special and you are loved. Mummy loves you so much and I wish I can say that no one else in this world love you more than Mummy does but the truth is, someone does. It is God.“

She concluded her letter by saying that she wants to see Gummy grow into a mature young lady in faith. She said, “Love, Your Mom who wants to spare you from all the pain in the world if she could but knows you need to go through those to become the whole and mature lady God wills for you to be.”
