Former sex blogger and performer Mocha Uson or Margaux Justiniano Uson in real life grabbed the headlines last night, May 9 after the announcement that President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed her as assistant secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).

Mocha a staunch ally of President Duterte was formerly appointed as a board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) early this year.

The singer/dancer's appointment drew mixed reactions from netizens as well and her name topped the trending topics of Twitter Philippines.

Mocha took to Facebook this Wednesday, May 10, to explain her role as the new assistant secretary of the PCOO and stressed that she will focus her attention on using social media to bridge the gap between the government and citizens.

“Sa mga nagtatanong po kung ano po ba ang gagawin natin sa PCOO. Ang ating pong tututukan sa PCOO ay ang mailapit ang mga ordinaryong Pilipino sa pamahalaan sa pamamagitan ng Social Media. At ma-idiretso ang TAMANG BALITA sa ating kababayan sa pamamagitan ng SOCIAL MEDIA. Samahan po niyo ako mga kaDDS. Panahon na na hindi na tayo umasa sa mga MALING BALITA ng ilang mainstream media at ating palakasin ang SOCIAL MEDIA sa tulong niyo mga tunay na DDS. Aside from her role in the PCOO, many are wondering how much Mocha will be paid as an Assistant Secretary of the said government office. A quick check at the Department of Budget (DBM)  EO No. 201 will show that Mocha will earn on average P106,454 per month.
