Karel Marquez took to social media both her despair and optimism following the unfortunate miscarriage of her first child with husband Sean Fariñas.

“Our dream of having a baby this year was short lived as I had chemical pregnancies, an early miscarriage at 5-6 weeks; every mother’s nightmare. I didn’t think it would happen to me, but it did, for the first time in my life, back to back,” Karel shared.

The actress has been grieving in silence, and was on the verge of depression until she told her parents, manager, and a friend.

Karel revealed how her husband has been suffering for their loss. She also narrated how she lost her third baby despite leading a healthier lifestyle from the onset of her pregnancy.

While she questioned everything she has gone through, she also claimed she has learned to submit everything to God.

“I put everything in God’s hands and trusted the process and pain. He showed me signs that I could still have a child. Yeah. Ang sakit – but I heard Him in my mind and said that He has something planned for me,” Karel said.

“My rainbow baby (a rainbow  baby is a baby after you experience a miscarriage) will come. Not now, but one day. Maybe next year? Next next year? And the next after that? Who knows. For now, let me be my best self, respect my body and mind, focus on the family we’ve built, go back to work full time, and still keep on inspiring others,” she continued.

Karel also assured her fellow expectant parents that they are not alone in these challenges and misery.

“I experienced an unfortunate event (marami-rami na ring pinagdaanan) but if you’re going through this now, you will be okay and better things are coming your way, all in God’s plan, all in God’s time. Titibay tayo dito,” she said.

She also encouraged them to hang on to their faith, saying, “If you feel like giving up this place, it is never the way. Don’t give up on yourself. God loves you so much and He will show you true happiness and your purpose, just be patient. Whatever pain you are experiencing today, it will pass. Smile now.”
