Being in music, Mikee says she is often asked about her surname—and yes, she is related to Asia's Nightingale, Lani Misalucha.
Online music show Spotlight Music Sessions brings another fresh face with Mikee Misalucha.
She is a graduating student of the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde taking up music production.
Being in music, Mikee says she is often asked about her surname—and yes, she is related to Asia's Nightingale, Lani Misalucha.
"She is my lola. I'm her apo sa pamangkin," she explains in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com.
"They ask me if I sing like her, pero sabi ko sobrang layo po. Siguro, I'm another generation of a Misalucha to give this generation a new taste of music," Mikee adds.
She performed a cover of Kitchie Nadal's "Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin" for Spotlight Music Sessions.
"It's a very iconic song for me since I grew up listening to her. She is my influence in my music. She's one of my favorite artists. This is one of the songs na talagang tumatak sa mga puso ng mga high school dati. Sobrang laki ng impact ng kanta sa akin so that's why I like to sing it a lot," she says.
For the performance, Mikee is joined by her friend Eva Villa on the keyboard.
