Heart Evangelista

Heart Evangelista speaks up on what it means for her to continuously donate to Filipinos in need.

“I feel happy, but I don't feel satisfied,” these were the words shared by Heart Evangelista to members of the press regarding her back-to-back donations during the enhanced community quarantine that lasted for more than two months.

She admitted during a blog conference that if she were given the opportunity to go back in time, she would've been more prepared in saving a little more, to give a little more.

“Sana hinanda ko 'yung sarili ko, you know?

“'Cause what I do on Instagram is a business. What I wear, what I dress for whatever, 'yung OOTDs --that's my work, that's my business, and I earn from that.

“But I wish if I could save a little bit more for this time, I would've done it.

“I feel that everybody should help because there's really no big amount in helping someone. For example, it's not necessary you pay for the whole bill, you can pay 50% of the bill… But If you have extra, then you pay for the bill. Kasi for me, it adds up.”

According to the 35-year-old actress, the lockdown period was the first time she felt publicly announcing her charity work to others to create awareness to help other people.

“I used to help before but I don't really say much. But I think going on Twitter, me being open to people, you can create awareness that somebody out there can help.

“And if I can help [them]… people who have more, can do more, or even those who have less can at least do something.

“I was really passionate about [helping] because I see them, I talk to them myself.

“I don't have a team. It's just me and Jecka, who does my hair, kami ang gumagawa ng lahat. I see them, I video call them, and you don't understand that a little amount can help someone's life or a child's life.

“Up to now, I wanna do more, I wanna keep going, and as much as I can, I will do it.

“Because I feel like you are blessed in life not just for your glory. You are blessed to share. You're given the sparkle to make other people sparkle in my arte way of saying it. Now is the time to do that.”

In addressing the issue regarding people who are taking advantage of her goodwill, Heart replied, “At this point, I think they're doing it because they needed it.

“They're just surviving and they're doing it because they're desperate.

“I don't want to be angry at them. Bahala na si Lord sa kanila.

“But for me, I need to do what I need to do. It's the likes of these people, whether they are seen [doing charity work] or not, that makes a whole difference.”

Heart Evangelista responds at basher: “You seriously want to kill me?
