Rhian and TJ's love story
Feb 13, 2010
The current story running on 'Dear Friend' is called 'Almost a Love Story.' But is the title enough to say kung happy nga ba or sad ang ending ng story ng mga characters na pino-portray nina Rhian Ramos at TJ Trinidad? Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. starsPreviously, on Dear Friend: Almost a Love Story, Hannah (Rhian Ramos) and Rommel (TJ Trinidad) fell in love in spite of their huge age difference. Pero nang paghiwalayin sila ng mga taong malapit sa kanila, they must learn to live separately—out of each other's lives. Pero sa kanilang muling pagkikita, will their "almost love story" become a real one? The answer will be revealed in the last two episodes of Almost a Love Story, but you might be able to glean some clues sa mga kuwento nina TJ Trinidad at Rhian Ramos sa iGMA.tv. "In the story kasi, when we first met, [Hannah] was 15, and they weren't sure yet what it was [they were feeling]." TJ continues that in the first two episodes, the relationship between his character and Rhian's was "something innocent; something they didn't expect to turn into something." But they were separated. TJ tells us, "naghiwalay 'yung landas nila, and then they saw each other again. [And] they realized what they had was real." TJ says the lesson the two characters had to learn was "not to give up." And it's a lesson that the viewers can take with them. "[For] people that are experiencing the same thing, if it's not the right time and you're willing to wait, then wait for it. If it's something worth waiting for, then why not?" Almost a Love Story is not the typical love story where boy meets girl, they fall in love and then live happily ever after. Rhian tells us na "malalim siya." And, in a way, it deals with the most difficult thing about true love—accepting it for what it is, not what we think it should be. Rhian points out that Almost a Love Story talks about "knowing the balance; it's being able to discern kung ano 'yung tama sa mali." If there was one important point of the story, Rhian says that this might be it. "Unang-una, hindi mo ilalagay sa isang kahon 'yung pag-ibig mo na 'Heto lang 'yung guidelines; ito lang ang puwede.'" She continues na maraming tao ang nagmamahalan who don't look at the age difference, who are of different religions, or race—people who love each other despite having the same gender. "So just because sabi ng isang tao na hindi kayo bagay, hindi naman ibig sabihin na— "Sino naman 'yung ibang tao para i-judge 'yung love niyo?" starsRhian believes in pure love. "Basta wala tayong ginagawang kasalanan, then fine." Pero, Rhian also knows na may pure love din na hindi talaga puwedeng mangyari. And Almost a Love Story also touches upon that. "It's also [about] learning to let go kung na-realize mo na nga talaga na mas makakabuti sa inyo na hindi kayo together." "There could be many factors: whether it be may natatapakan kayong tao, [or] you don't bring out the best in each other." Rhian says love should always bring out the best in both parties. "That's really what love is about." And that's what she wants people to see in the current story of Dear Friend: "One, it's learning to listen to your heart versus sa lahat ng tao; and two, whether you should let go or hold on." So will Hannah and Rommel let go or hold on? We'll find out in the last two episodes of Dear Friend: Almost a Love Story, part of GMA-7's Linggo Binggo, after SOP Fully Charged.
