About
In Ikaw Sana, Jennylyn Mercado stars as Eliza Montemayor, a music teacher whose life changes with the death of her mother. With her demise, Eliza is forced to live with her father's legitimate family, which includes her half-sister Sofia played by Pauleen Luna. Despite being raised apart from each other, Eliza and Sofia get along quite unexpectedly, and they quickly become friends. But their blossoming friendship is cut short when they realize that sharing the same father is not the only thing they have in common. Eliza and Sofia are also in love with the same man: Michael Olivarez played by Mark Herras. A few years back, Michael had met and fallen in love with Eliza while vacationing in the province—oblivious to the fact that Eliza and his fiancée Sofia are actually sisters. But because of the orchestrations of Don Ramon (Tony Mabesa), Michael's grandfather, the two are forcibly separated and Michael is tricked into keeping his engagement with Sofia. But now that their worlds have crossed once more, Michael will not let go of Eliza again. Michael asks Eliza to run away with him, prompting Gener (Tirso Cruz III) to marry off her daughter to Michael. Sofia, angered by her father's decision, hatches a plot to sabotage Michael and Eliza's happy ending. Sofia conspires with Eliza's doctor, Dave (Arthur Solinap), to make her sister believe that she has an illness similar to her mother's. An illness that wouldn't only waste her body, but her relationships with everyone she loves as well. And so Eliza decides to leave, to make it easy for everyone when she eventually dies. But what happens when Eliza finds out that she doesn't have an illness? What happens when she discovers that she was duped by her own sister to leave the man she loves? Can Eliza return to the life, and the man she loves, that she had already left twice before? Completing the cast of Ikaw Sana are Maritoni Fenandez, Mariz Ricketts, Marissa Delgado, Luz Valdez, Alicia Alonso, Vaness del Moral, Jana Roxas, Joey Paras, Jim Pebangco and Vivo Ouano; with Joel Lamangan, dgpi (Adik Sa 'Yo, Paano ba ang Mangarap?) directing and Suzette Doctolero (Encantadia, Lupin) as the head writer.
