“Nag-presenta siya,” the Kapuso actress gushed, “Kami [ni Ruru], we’re very casual when it comes to it. One day sinabi ko lang sa kanya na may grad ball kami tapos ayun na. Wala nang formal na [invitation] and Ruru is very willing to come with me.”
When asked why he agreed to be Gabbi’s escort, the Kapuso cutie said in a separate interview with GMANetwork.com, “Siyempre, ikaw ba naman ang ka-love team ng isang Gabbi Garcia, talagang hinding-hindi ka magdadalawang isip.”
He also said he wasn’t able to attend his prom, and he’s glad he’s going to this ball with his love team.
What’s the real score?
“We’re close, that’s why we have chemistry. We like each other in terms of our working relationship and friendship. Hindi kami nahihirapan on-cam kasi it’s easy off-cam,” the former My Destiny actress said.
Ruru, on the other hand, said they have already adjusted as a love team and are enjoying each other’s company.
The actor even described Gabbi as “Sobrang maalagain at maalalahanin. Lagi siyang nandiyan para sa akin, para paalalahan ako ng mga bagay na kailangan ko naman.”
“'Yung nagustuhan ko pa sa kaniya ay ang pagiging mabait niya at sobrang talented kaya masaya ako na si Gab yung ka-love team ko,” he added.
When they were asked what to expect from their tandem for their new soap Let The Love Begin on GMA Telebabad, Gabbi explained, “We don’t want to give expectations kasi we act naturally. We’ll do our best to make them happy. We have an upcoming show so [expect] we’re gonna be closer,” the leading lady answered.
“Expect po na talagang ibibigay namin ni Gab ang best namin sa bawat eksena at siguradong kikiligin, maiiyak at mapapasaya namin sila,” the leading man replied.
“You can see naman the effort namin sa isa’t-isa para ma-build talaga 'yung love team,” the actress-model added.
GabRu, from reel to real?
“Let’s see about that, but right now we’re not seeing ourselves like that. [We’re] friends, best friends na close kasi sabay kami nangarap to have our own soap,” the morena beauty stated.
“Ang masasabi ko, we have this constant love for each other. We’ve been there since the start. Kami lang ang nagtutulungan [and] we have this give and take relationship. No malice [because] the purpose of love teams is to automatically help each other, kahit off-cam,” the
InstaDAD actress explained.
When asked if he’s courting his on-screen partner, he said he’s not into it yet since they are prioritizing things they know are important to them until they grow old, citing their studies and careers.
“Naniniwala ako sa destiny so kung kami talaga para sa isa’t-isa, kami talaga,” he concluded, his leading lady’s really special to him.
