Randy Ortiz gained popularity in the ‘90s as a mens wear designer. He then ventured into women’s wear and went on to branch out to bridal designs.

He was the President of the Fashion and Design Council of the Philippines (FDCP) from 2002 to 2005. He continues to thrive in the local fashion scene and still is the favorite of celebrities and high-profile personalities.

According to Dingdong, he has known Randy for more than 10 years.

He shared, “Actually, ako ay nagsimula bilang model ni Randy Ortiz. I believe hanggang ngayon, kasi ever since talaga, halos lahat talaga ng sinusuot ko [Randy Ortiz creations], especially sa aking mga shows.”

Randy added, “Ang dami kong ginawang damit. Siguro, masasabi ko na isa siya sa mga artistang may pinakamaraming damit na ginawa ko for a show, for a function, for anything that is related to his profession, so halos lumaki na iyan sa akin.”

How does it feel that Randy will be designing his suit on his special day?

Dingdong answered, “Actually, not just on this occasion. Maraming events sa buhay ko, especially when I was starting, na kasama ko si Randy Ortiz, maybe not physically pero suot ko siya. Nagiging memorable ang bawat highlight at milestone sa buhay ko dahil kasama ko rin ang tinahi ni Randy.”

He continued, “On my very special day, wala na akong ibang gustong maisuot kung hindi ang gawa niya.”

The award-winning actor also mentioned that he will be wearing a tuxedo.

Randy explained, “Sa ngayon kasi, ang mas naaangkop for the grooms is they wear mostly modern tuxes. Hindi ito ‘yung mga coat tails na English type, it’s very modern. Contemporary na ‘yung details niya.”

The seasoned designer also looks forward to make Dingdong a suit that is definitely fit for a king.

He said, “Sisiguraduhin ko na wala nang pinakaguwapo sa gabing iyon kundi siya. Dapat magmumukha siyang groom. You’ll be flooded with all your guests, with everyone there wearing a suit because it’s going to be a black tie event. At the end of the day, he has to stand out, and I guess that is the challenge that I have to take.”

Dingdong added, “I guess, more importantly, ‘yung pinaka-premium is ‘yung trust ko talaga ay 100 percent dahil bukod sa talagang siya ay alam nating sobrang galing na designer sa Pilipinas, ay talagang matalik na kaibigan at soon-to-be ninong.”

There is a possibility that Dingdong will be wearing more than one suit for his wedding. The Primetime King also confirmed that host and DJ, KC Montero will be one of his groomsmen.

In an Instagram post Saturday night, Dingdong Dantes had good words for Randy Ortiz: "A fashion Icon. My very good friend. My soon to be ninong. The person who will suit me up for my big day. Bespoke...the Randy Ortiz way."
