DongYan spiritually prepares for marriage

Aside from the usual wedding preparations, soon-to-be wed Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera seeks spiritual counsel before they enter the married life.

The couple had lunch with Father Tito Caluag this weekend. Father Caluag is closely connected to the groom as he used to be Dingdong's principal at the Ateneo de Manila High School.

In his Instagram post, Fr. Caluag believes that the union of Dingdong and Marian will be blessed as they are committed to God's mission. He also shared that Dingdong's inspiration comes from their high school batch motto: "Digitus Dei est hic" which means "The finger of God is here."

There are moments in the day to day when you feel God’s presence in a very graced way and the heart and soul exclaim: “Digitus Dei est hic.” “The finger of God is here.”; had this experience over lunch today, a long lunch up to 4 pm, with Dong and Marian. We talked about their coming marriage and mission. As we “got serious” about God’s mission Dong realized that he was wearing the exact same shirt when I interviewed him almost a year ago for a book we are publishing for 2015. In the interview, he told me that through the years what inspires him is his batch motto in Ateneo de Manila High School when I was principal, “The Passion to be.” “No accidents in God’s plan.” We all got goose bumps. “Digitus Dei est hic.” I believe this marriage will be blessed – as it flows with God’s mission for Dong and Marian. Prayers @dongdantes

After years of being together, it seems like the hand of God is truly at work in Dingdong and Marian's life as He ultimately led the couple to the altar.
