Adrian Pascual of T.O.P. dedicates victory to his estranged dad

Adrian Pascual of GMA’s newest boy band sensation T.O.P. only had one goal in joining the first multi-platform boy band competition in the country and that was to win back the affection of his father who left their family when he was 6 years old.

Adrian recalled that his dad sent him a chat message one night in the course of the competition.
 
“Sabi niya sa akin, ‘‘Nak, proud na proud ako sa’yo.’ Doon palang pagkasabi niya nun, okay na ako. ‘Yun din ‘yung objective ko dito, na masabi niyang proud siya sa akin, na matatawag niya ulit akong anak,” Adrian told GMANetwork.com.
 
Now that he has succeeded in the competition, he is more elated to offer his victory to his father.
 
“Dad, eto na ‘yung pangarap mo sa akin na maging successful ako. Sisiguraduhin ko magiging proud ka sa akin, Dad. Talagang sasabihin mo ulit na ‘Anak ko ‘yan,’ na ‘proud na proud ako sa anak ko,’ said Adrian.
 
While he also revealed he longs to see his father again, he has always kept his mom in his thoughts and in his heart.
 
“Kay mommy din nagpapasalamat ako kasi all this time sa journey ko, nandito ka lang sa likod ko, sa tabi ko. Hindi mo ako iniiwan. Sobrang laki ng binigay na oras nila para sa akin. Makakabawi na ako sa mommy ko. ‘Yung lahat ng paghihirap niya, makakatulong na rin ako sa pamilya ko,” Adrian declared.
 
As the show came to a close, the Bulakenyong Baby Boy was not only declared as one of the grand winners, he also emerged as a stronger and better individual.

“Wag kang matakot na ipakita ‘yung kaya mo. Wag kang matakot na kumausap ng tao. Wag kang matakot makisama. Kailangan mo rin magtiwala sa sarili mo, lalo na kay God. Lagi mo i-cherish ‘yung simple things. Doon nagsisimula ‘yung larger [more important] things, sa simpleng bagay,” he shared.
 
“Sa mga supporters, friends and lalo na sa aking pamilya, maraming maraming salamat sa inyo! Kayo ang lakas ko, kayo ang inspirasyon ko. Kung wala kayo ay wala ko ngayon sa kinatatayuan ko. Mahal na mahal ko kayo,” Adrian concluded.
