This year’s Pista sa Nayon: Philippine Independence Day in Vallejo, California promises to be grander and more memorable, with the participation of Kapuso primetime king and queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera made possible by GMA Pinoy TV.

Dingdong and Marian expressed how thrilled they are to be with their kababayans during a very special occasion. “We’re excited to celebrate a very important event in Philippine history with

Our Kapuso abroad!,” said Dingdong. “Isang karangalan po na makasama sa Pista sa Nayon sa Vallejo, California para magbigay ng saya sa ating mga kababayan doon,” Marian added.

The Kapuso couple will join forces to provide entertainment to their Kapuso abroad, who will attend the event this June 3 at the Vallejo Waterfront, Mare Island Way. DongYan’s performance will be the highlight of the whole-day affair, alongside a string of cultural presentations courtesy of talented Fil-Am artists. There will also be a parade led by Filipino-American leaders, dignitaries, and other VIPs.

GMA Network’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV, will reprise its role as exclusive media sponsor for Pista sa Nayon. This is in keeping with GMA Pinoy TV’s aim of bringing Filipinos abroad closer to home through high-quality TV programs and meaningful international events.

Pista sa Nayon is organized by the Philippine Cultural Committee (PCC), a non-profit organization comprised of Filipino-American organizations based in the Solano and Napa counties of California. On their partnership with GMA Pinoy TV, PCC’s President Norma Placido has this to say: “We are grateful to GMA Pinoy TV for supporting us in this endeavour. With Dingdong and Marian as part of Pista sa Nayon, we look forward to a successful event that will highlight the beauty of Philippine culture and strengthen the bonds that tie Filipinos here in the US with their heritage.”

Entrance to the event is free, and everyone who has a deep appreciation for the Filipino culture is welcome.
