And so, after “wowing” her Filipino fans locally, Charice is set to amaze her global following as GMA Network broadcasts the special globally through its international channel GMA Pinoy TV on February 17 (Middle East, Europe and Asia Pacific) and February 19 (U.S.A and Canada) , in all territories covered by the said channel.
The TV special reaped a whopping 35.4% household audience share in Mega Manila based on the more trusted TV ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. This figure is notable considering that it aired during the latter part of the Sunday primetime block.
Charice: One for the Heart also trended in the micro-blogging site Twitter. Apart from the special’s official hashtag, #Charice and #Dancewithmyfather also made it to the site’s trending topics list. The latter began trending when Charice sang the Luther Vandross song, which she dedicated to his father who passed away late last year. The TV special was taped on December 5 last year, barely over a month after the death of Charice’s dad.
