The University of Santo Tomas (UST) marks the Yuletide season with a Quadricentennial-inspired Christmas celebration as Paskuhan 2011 kicks off on Friday (Dec. 16) at the UST Grandstand. Now on its 20th year, UST’s annual Christmas showcase will carry a forward-looking theme dubbed “Pagsalubong sa Ikalimang Siglo”, taking off from its 400-year milestone. Prior to the celebration proper, Paskuhan 2011 will open with a Mass on Thursday (Dec.15) , 6 p.m. at the UST Grandstand. Themed “Unang Simbang Gabi sa UST”, the Mass will be presided by UST Rector Fr. Rolando dela Rosa, O.P. as main homilist and celebrant shortly after the annual “Panunuluyan” ceremony. On Friday, the Paskuhan 2011 festivities begin with a costume parade to be participated by students, faculty and officials of the different faculties and colleges of the University. Notable bands, musicians, and other performers will also grace the Paskuhan stage during the concert wrap at 6 p.m. Capping the event is the much anticipated fireworks program which hits the UST skyline.
