Kapuso stars join Peñafrancia Festival

Just a month after further stregthening its reach in the area with the launch of GMA TV Bicol last August 10, top broadcast station GMA Network is once again ready to take the lead as it brings some of its hottest artists to this year's Peñafrancia Festival.

This Sunday, September 16, stars of the upcoming primetime show Coffee Prince – Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal with Benjamin Alves – together with Luna Blanca’s Mark Herras, IBilib’s Chariz Solomon, and Rocco Nacino, leading man of the forthcoming afternoon prime program Yesterday’s Bride, will celebrate Peñafrancia – one of the country’s greatest displays of Marian devotion – with their Bicolano fans.
Exciting games, production numbers, and other surprises await all supporters in this day-long event, which will begin with a Kapuso Barangayan in Camaligan People’s Center, Camarines Sur at 9 a.m. followed by a Kapuso Night at the SM City Naga Event Center at 4 p.m.

Aljur, who will be coming straight from a Kapuso Mall Show in Mactan, Cebu on Saturday, shares that he is truly excited to meet his fans from Bicol. “I’m really looking forward to spend time with our Bicolano supporters this weekend. Performing before them while they celebrate the sacred feast of the Our Lady of Peñafrancia makes our visit a lot more special and meaningful,” he says.

The Kapuso festivities kicked-off last Thursday, September 13, with the participation of Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga cast – Gabby Eigenmann, Ynna Asisitio, Marky Lopez, Jace Flores, and loveteam Mikael Daez and Andrea Torres – in the Civic Parade and Kapuso Barangayan at Calabanga People’s Center, Camarines Sur.

Oliver Amoroso, AVP for GMA Regional TV says, “GMA Network is back in the Bicol region, this time, to join the Peñafrancia Festival. Considered the biggest Marian celebration, GMA Region TV's calendar would not be complete without joining this festival. We are thankful to all our Kapusong Bicolanos especially to our event partners and sponsors for their support. We hope our participation, from the live coverage to our various events, will make this year's Peñafrancia Festival more memorable.”

The full details of the Network’s participation in the Peñafrancia Festival will be featured in the Let's Fiesta TV Special airing on October 7 via the Network’s regional stations in Bicol, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Dagupan, Ilocos, GenSan, Bacolod, and CDO. Press release and photo from GMA Network Inc.
