UST celebrates centuries of Christian faith with Paskuhan 2012

With a theme dubbed "Pagdiriwang ng Pananampalataya" the University of Santo Tomas will commemorate its Paskuhan celebration on December 18 and 21 at the UST Grandstand.

The event will set off on December 18 with Panunuluyan, a traditional event portraying the search for the birthplace of the Messiah; which will be highlighted by a Eucharistic celebration with the Master of the Order of Preachers and Chancellor of the University of Santo Tomas, Very Rev. Bruno Cadoré, O.P., as main celebrant and UST Rector, Rev. Fr. Herminio V. Dagohoy, O.P as homilist. An agape will follow the concelebrated mass.

On December 21, the festivity that comes with the Paskuhan celebration shall begin with a parade participated in by students, faculty members, employees and administrators from different faculties and colleges. Popular bands will add to the festive atmosphere and will perform live for the whole university community. Raffle prizes will also be given away to lucky Thomasians.

A much-awaited event by every Thomasian, Paskuhan is the time for the Thomasian community to celebrate friendship and camaraderie. It is also the season for thanksgiving and devotion as it coincides with the Catholic Church’s commemoration of the “Year of Faith”.

The Paskuhan will culminate with the lighting of the night sky through a series of fireworks display which students look forward to every year.
