Second batch of PUPCET 2013 slated on February 17

Thousands of young people will troop to the country’s largest state university on February 17, 2013 for the entrance examination of the 108-year-old higher education institution.

 

Prof. Elena R. Abeleda of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Admission Services Office said online application for the PUP College Entrance Test (PUPCET) on February 17 is now open to qualified youths. Applicants just have to visit the PUP Website and access PUP iApply, a Web-based registration system that enables one to apply for the PUPCET online.

 

Applicants who have accessed PUP iApply have until February 8, 2013 to pay the P500.00 PUPCET application fee at Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) branches nationwide. The last day for claiming the PUPCET ePermit online is on February 13, 2013.

 

Graduating high school students of the current school year and high school graduates who have not enrolled in any technical/diploma/degree program immediately after high school graduation and who obtained a general weighted average of 82 percent or higher are qualified to take the PUPCET.

 

A Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) passer who is eligible for admission to college with an average rating of 82 or higher in Mathematics, Communication Arts (English), Science, Communication Arts (Filipino), and Araling Panlipunan is also qualified to apply.

 

A passer of the Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) Test for Secondary Level who is eligible for admission to college and has 100 or higher standard score and an essay writing proficiency of 2 or higher may also take the PUPCET.

 

The PUP campuses in Lopez, Unisan, Mulanay and General Luna, Quezon; San Pedro, Sta. Rosa, Calauan and Biñan, Laguna; Sta. Maria and Pulilan, Bulacan; Mariveles, Bataan; Ragay, Camarines Sur; Sto. Tomas, Batangas; Maragondon, Cavite; Bansud, Oriental Mindoro; Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro; Cabiao, Nueva Ecija; Quezon City, Taguig City, San Juan City and Parañaque City, Metro Manila are now also accepting onsite application from qualified residents.

 

The PUPCET fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. An applicant is only allowed to apply and take the entrance test once this school year in just one campus. Double application renders the result null and void.
