How do you parent a millennial?

The St. Theresa's College, Quezon City Alumnae Association (STCQCAA) invites parents of millennials and everyone intrigued about millennials to a forum called "Parenting the Millennials" on Nov. 11, 10am at the St. Adolphine Hall at STCQC on D. Tuazon, Quezon City.

Born in the 1990s, the Millennials have often been described as a difficult generation because they can be: narcissistic, entitled and easily discouraged. They are said to be indecisive, stubborn and seemingly too liberal in their ways.

What societal changes have encouraged our young to adapt this attitude? Why are they norm breakers as they search for their happiness?

This Parenting the Millennials talk seeks to give another perspective about them.

As we learn the hows and whys of their behavior, it will also allow comparison between the Filipino Millennial and their Asia-Pacific counterparts.

Research and strategy experts Issa Baron (STCQC Batch 1981) and Vicky Ortega come as Millennial allies. As they help us understand the Millennial tension points, we will learn how to connect with them in a way that will build strong relationships as parents, as educators, spiritual companions and employers.

"Parenting the Millennials" is another installment of TereTalks, a quarterly symposium organized by STCQCAA to discuss subjects of interest and relevance to our alumnae and the community at large. TereTalks stands for Teresa Enlightens, Refreshes, and Energizes.

Entrance fee for "Parenting the Millennials" is Php 300 per person, inclusive of snacks. For inquiries and ticket reservations, please call the STCQCAA office at 740 0115 local 233 or go to stcqcaa.org. Tickets are available at the STAA Office, Room 101 STCQC Senior High School Building.
