Eleksyon 2013

  • Loren Legarda

A consistent topnotcher in senatorial races, she is aiming for a threepeat in 2013 by reaping gains from niche-focused legislation affecting women, the environment, national security, human rights, health, Muslim relations, disaster management, and community development. Senator Loren Legarda sought the vice presidency twice, but failed in both attempts.

Her private life came into public focus in May 2011 when her ex-husband, former Batangas governor Antonio Leviste, was found to have left the National Bilibid Prisons without permission. Leviste was convicted of the murder of his friend and business partner Rafael de las Alas in 2009.
