Eleksyon 2013

  • Tingting Cojuangco

She may be the President's aunt, but Tingting Cojuangco is a senatorial candidate for rival coalition United Nationalist Alliance. A longtime advocate of the rights of Muslim Filiponos, the former Tarlac governor thinks the Bangsamoro Framework Agreement is “a step forward” but says the national government should keep out of ARMM politics, particularly in putting a candidate supported by PNoy.

Has her public criticism of the President's achievements in this area strained relations between aunt and nephew? "Nagte-text pa rin kami," she says. Pressed further, she adds, "They're friendly texts."
