Gilas Pilipinas buckles down in Seville for FIBA World Cup

After a month of rigorous preparation following the FIBA Asia Cup, the Philippine national basketball is now in Seville, Spain for the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

 

 

Gilas Pilipinas received a warm welcome from Filipinos waiting for their arrival at the Seville airport, displaying the national flag at the railings in proud support of the national team.

 

 

Gilas members turned to their social media accounts to express their excitement on setting foot in a major international basketball tournament.

 

 

 

 

Gilas head coach Chot Reyes also posted a photo of the team working out as part of their final preparations before clashing with the world's powerhouse teams.

 

 

The squad will face Croatia on August 30, Greece on August 31, Argentina on September 1, Puerto Rico on September 3, and Senegal on September 4.

 

Gilas Pilipinas booked a ticket for the FIBA World Cup when they finished with a silver medal in last year's FIBA Asia Championship. — JST, GMA News
