WATCH: Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg lead tech bigwigs in ice bucket challenge

The ALS ice bucket challenge has gone viral, and the biggest names in tech have caught the bug.

No less than Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, went all in on the challenge, building a contraption to drench himself in ice water.

Gates was challenged by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who posted his video on the social network last week.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also posted his ice bucket video, with the help of the software giant's employees.

Nadella challenged counterparts Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Larry Page of Google to do the same, and the two also responded with their own videos.

Apple CEO Tim Cook and Twitter CEO Dick Costolos also took the challenge.

The challenge started in the United States, where common people and celebrities alike chose between dumping a cooler of ice bucket on their heads or donating $100 to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association. ALS, which is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease after the New York Yankees great, is a neurogenerative disorder similar to Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. — JST/TJD, GMA News
