A 9yo boy applies for the ‘Shaider’ job opening in NASA

Remember that 'Shaider' job post that NASA opened last month?

Well, on reddit, we learned that a nine-year-old boy has applied for the role formally called "Planetary Protection Officer."

Calling it "my friend's son wrote a letter to NASA," redditor @Millamber posted a photo of the adorable cover letter of nine-year-old Jack Davies. It quickly went viral — for obvious reasons.

“I may be nine but I think I would be fit for the job,” Jack began, quickly stating that “one of the reasons is that my sister says I am an alien also.”

Jack quickly listed his very many qualifications:

  • He’s seen all the space and alien movies that he could
  • He’s seen the show Marvel Agents of Shield
  • He’s great at video games
  • He’s “young so I can learn to think like an Alien.”
  • Jack signed it “Guardian of the Galaxy.”

All together now: Awww.

According to Huffington Post, NASA has actually replied to the boy, explaining what the role entailed. “We are always looking for bright future scientists and engineers to help us, so I hope you will study hard and do well in school. We hope to see you here at NASA one of these days,” Dr. James L. Green signed it.

How adorable is that? We don't hope to see the day that Earth will need protection from aliens, but if the unfortunate happens, we hope Jack be there defending us. — LA, GMA News
