Boy with short arms rides bike 4 kilometers to school daily

This Grade 9 student is suffering from phocomelia syndrome, but his condition does not stop him from riding his bike four kilometers every day to go to school.

Ruel Jhon Pungol, a student of Lamba National High School, has captured the hearts of netizens after his daily bike ride to school was posted on Facebook by his uncle Rey Mond Simpal.

According to Simpal, Ruel Jhon rides an improvised bike to school every day.

He rides the bike hands free the whole four-kilometer. He uses his left foot to pedal and his right foot to steer the bike.

"Kabilang paa lang po iyong nagpapadyak ng pedal ng bisikleta. Sobra mo akong napahanga pamangkin. Ingat lagi sa pagpunta ng school araw-araw," Simpal wrote.

The video of Ruel Jhon riding the bike already has 1,142,605 views and a separate photo of the boy with a shy smile and his precious bicycle has been shared 390 times as of this posting. —ALG, GMA News
