Photo showing path to Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes littered with trash goes viral

It's explicitly stated in the Bible that we are stewards of the earth and are tasked to care for it, but even if that wasn't written anywhere, caring for the environment is for our benefit.

If we ruin the only habitable planet in our solar system, there's no Planet B for plan B.

Which is why the site of the path to the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes littered with an ungodly amount of garbage has angered people online. The photo was posted by Isaiah Christian Reyes on March 30, taken at 9 am.

Plastic cups, half-eaten ears of corn, empty loaf bread bags, assorted wrappers can be seen on the ground.

"Mapapansin mo 'yong kalat kahit saan.

According to him, there were garbage bags in the vicinity and he couldn't comprehend why the people couldn't be bothered to mind where they place their trash.

Isaiah shared another photo where the sleeping people can be seen.

There were cleaning aides in the area, but they were understaffed.

By sharing the photos, Isaiah hopes to motivate people to do better.

— Aya Tantiangco, GMA News
