Preview Magazine’s first-ever cover featuring supermodel Tweetie de Leon

Following Summit Media’s sad announcement shutting down its print operations, lifestyle writers, photographers, and fashionistas have started to write on social media their tributes and thank you’s to the publishing giant.

Among those that stood out was supermodel Tweetie de Leon’s. On Instagram, she posted Preview Magazine’s June 1995 cover — the magazine's first! — which featured a sweet and fresh-faced Tweetie.

In case a backgrounder is necessary, Preview Magazine was Summit Media's first foray into glossy magazine publishing, before it became the giant publishing house that ran over 30 titles at its peak.

It kind of makes Tweetie's cover a tad more important than others, no?

“Thank you Preview print. It remains a huge honor to be part of your history. As you are fashioned to inspire transformations, the move to digital will expressly be seamless. I shall carry forward as a keen supporter,” the super model wrote.

Interestingly enough, we learn from the cover that life hasn’t changed much. Apart from the magazine’s price —Preview was only P75 — all-white looks are still very much in fashion in 2018, as is tropical, and people are still interested in fashion that’s fun.

Preview's last issue will be in May 2018, after which the fashion title will continue to exist online. — LA, GMA News
