Mocha Uson apologizes over controversial sign-language video

Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson has apologized over the controversial video that showed blogger Andrew Olivar pretending to be a hearing-speech impaired person.

In a 30-second video, Uson said she and Bolivar are formally apologizing for any offense the video had caused. She also asked the deaf community to accept her apology in sign language.

Uson initially said Olivar will apologize for the video and vowed to be more active in "guiding" the blogger.

On Monday, Olivar apologized for the video.

An organization of deaf persons, along with the rest of the deaf community, took offense at Olivar over the video posted by Uson on her Facebook blog.

Uson was also seen in the video making comments and laughing at Olivar's stunt.

The pair previously earned criticism for the 'ipederalismo' dance, something which even her allies criticized. — Rie Takumi/RSJ, GMA News
