Award-winning international films will also be screened during the Quezon City International Pink Film Festival. The lineup includes Cannes Film Festival grand prize winner "La Vie d’Adele" (Blue is the Warmest Color), the German film "Freier Fall," and the American documentary "Before We Know It." International Gender Rights Forum, Pride March

Apart from screening films that focus on the LGBT community, there will also be an International Gender Rights Forum and Pride March during the International Pink Film Festival week.

The three-day forum will discuss topics human rights, health, and education and how they relate to LGBT life. Speakers from Sweden, USA, and Cambodia, as well as local resource persons, will spearhead the forum.

International Gender Rights Forum will be held on December 10-12 at Cinema 3, Trinoma Mall.

LGBT organizations, supporters, and local barangay units are set to gather at the Quezon City Memorial Circle on December 13 for another highlight of the week-long Quezon City International Pink Film Festival, the Pride March.

The event will feature a fashion show, a float competition, a night party, rainbow booths, and the first QC LGBT Rainbow Awards that'll recognize personalities who pushed for the LGBT movement.

The Quezon City International Pink Film Festival is part of the 75th founding anniversary of the City. It is also a movement that implements the Gender-Fair Ordinance of the city authored by councilor Mayen Juico and co-authored by councilors Doray Delarmente and Aly Medalla. It is a project by the Quezon City Pride Council (QCPC) headed by Soxie Topacio and the Philippine Initiative on LGBT Pride Advocacy Inc. (PhiLPA) headed by Deocampo. — Trisha Macas/VC, GMA News
