Cheats will be performing alongside international festival favorites and indie heavyweights from different countries such as CHVRCHES, Beach House, Flume, Battles, Big Scary, Cashew Chemists, DIIV, East India Youth, GDJYB, Grimes, Hermitude, Hudson Mohawke, Intriguant, Metz, Purity Ring, Riot !N Magenta, Shamir, The Internet, Thundercat, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Violent Soho.

"Coming from the US, UK and Australia, as well as our own backyard and around the region, the 2016 line-up is a heady mix of left-field electronica, shambolic punk, intelligent pop and boundary-pushing R&B, who will be travelling across three countries and seven cities to perform at some of the best live music settings around," its website said.

Laneway Festival Singapore will be held at The Meadow, Gardens by the Bay on January 30.

The festival started in Melbourne, Australia in 2005. It started as a series of weekly shows at a bar before becoming one of Australia's most-awaited music festivals. It then branched out to other locations across Australia before its version in Singapore was staged in Singapore.

Cheats is composed of actress and singer Saab Magalona, her husband Jim Bacarro, Candy Gamos, Ernest Agila, Mau Torralba, Manny Tanglao, and Enzo Hermosa. They formed the indie band in 2013.

The band's self-titled debut album was released earlier this year. It was produced by Filipino rock icon Ely Buendia. — Trisha Macas/BM, GMA News
