Solenn Heussaff designs shirts for charity to help build classrooms

Kapuso star Solenn Heussaff is also an artist, and recently she used her talents for a good cause, collaborating with actress Nanette Medved-Po's organization HOPE.

Solenn has created designs for shirts that have been made from 11 recycled bottles each. All of the proceeds of the project will go to building public school classrooms nationwide.

"Everyone knows I love to create art. Painting, drawing, sketching… all of it relaxes me. So when Nanette Po, the founder of HOPE, called me to collaborate with them, I just couldn’t say no. First, I thought the idea of making shirts out of 100% recycled plastic bottles was #GENIUS," Solenn wrote in a blog post.

She said the collaboration lets her share her art "in a totally different way," and is also a creative way to recycle trash.

"Living in the Philippines, I find it really sad to see plastic littered on our streets every single day. So through this project, in my own little way, I’m happy to help take some of the trash away," she said.

Two hundred shirts have been produced and placed inside a bottle. The tops are available in Zalora and in the first HOPE pop-up vending machine on the ground floor of Net Park in Fort Bonifacio.
