Bill Gates visits the Philippines, goes to Palawan, IRRI

The world's richest man Bill Gates visited the country this past week, a report on GMA's “24 Oras” program said Wednesday.

GMA News was able to obtain an exclusive photo of a helicopter owned by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation at the International Rice Research Institute in Los Baños, Laguna.



Sources told GMA News they saw the Microsoft founder and philantrophist at IRRI. The foundation is the largest private donor of the institute.

According to Bureau of Immigration records, a certain William Henry Gates arrived at the NAIA on April 4 aboard a private US jet.

The BOI added that their records show Gates flying aboard a chartered plane en route to Puerto Princesa in Palawan on April 5.

IRRI management neither confirmed nor denied Gates' supposed visit to their Laguna headquarters. - Andrei Medina/JST, GMA News
