Miss Malaysia 'overwhelmed' by Pinoys' love after kiss of support for Pia Wurtzbach
Miss Malaysia Vanessa Tevi said her pageant "sister," now Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, is going to be the "best" holder of the said title.
On Instagram, Vanessa posted a photo of her and several other contestants surrounding Pia after she was crowned following a mix-up in the announcement.
Malaysia's candidate to the pageant is shown about to give Pia a kiss on the cheek.
In her caption, Vanessa said she and their fellow "Miss Universe sisters" know Pia is "gonna be the best reigning Miss Universe yet."
She said she is already missing Pia, who is now in New York to start her duties as the new titleholder.
"No more dancing to 'Hotline Bling' together, no more secretly laughing because we're trynna understand what @maybaranithaw (Miss Myanmar May Barani Thaw) & @jessica.xueyunfang (Miss China Jessica Xue) had just said, no more taking turns to releasing the kraken, & no more chance of me interviewing you about how it's like being Binibini Phillipines (sic). Gosh, missing you already!" she wrote.
She also invited Pia to visit Malaysia "soon," adding: "[D]on't forget our VIP treatment you promised us sisters when we drop by the Philippines. Mabuhay! Until then, enjoy Christmas & take care... We love you."
'Overwhelmed'
Vanessa also took on Instagram to thank Filipinos for their positive comments about "a simple hug and a kiss" that she gave Pia after the coronation.
Her gesture also made the headlines in her home country.

"I must say, jeeeez guys, I'm overwhelmed with the love from all you Philippinas (sic)! I honestly didn't think that a simple hug & a kiss would earn me this much love. Because to me, it was only natural for me to be happy for the new #MissUniverse who so happens to be my #MissUniverseSister.
Pia's 'pageant sisters'
During the pageant, Pia grew close to Vanessa, May, and Jessica, as they were under one pageant supervisor.
Posts on their respective Instagram accounts included some group photos that mostly featured the four of them.
Of the three, Vanessa was most vocal about her curiosity about how the Philippines did beauty pageants, like the Binibining Pilipinas.
May was Pia's roommate during the pageant. As she left Las Vegas, she took to Instagram to say she was "so proud" of the new Miss Universe.

Jessica and Pia, meanwhile, showed warm relations, which other Instagram users lauded as the countries they represented are caught in a territorial dispute.
