PHL, Ecuador bets tie for ‘darling of the press’ at Miss Earth media event

The Philippines' Imelda Schweighart and Ecuador's Katherine Elizabeth Espin tied for gold on Tuesday when they were named the "darling of the press" at a media event for this year's Miss Earth pageant.

Venezuelan beauty Stephanie Ysabel De Zorzi Landaeta took silver, while USA's Corrin Julia Stellakis bagged the bronze. The winners were named after a vote among the media present at the event.

At the event, the environment-themed competition's 84 candidates posed in their swimsuits poolside at the Diamond Hotel in Manila. Among them is Sweden's Cloie Syquia Skarne, who is the daughter of Gabby Concepcion and the half-sister of actress KC Concepcion.
