Asia’s Next Top Model runner-up shares ‘not nice’ encounter with #TeamMaureen

Vietnam's Minh Tu Nguyen was one of the first to congratulate Maureen Wroblewitz on her Asia's Next Top Model win.

The pair, together with Malaysia's Shikin Gomez, made it to the finals and each of them earned their place at the top.

On Thursday, Nguyen took to Instagram to shed a bit of light on the effects of bashing from Wroblewitz's fans as they competed for the title.

Sharing a photo of an exchange with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, who served as a guest judge for the show, Nguyen wrote, "Now that the show is over, I would like to share some of my thoughts."

"Firstly, when Maureen's fans came out to attack me in a very (vicious) manner, it was not nice. Especially some attacked my family," she revealed.

Now that the show is over, I would like to share some of my thoughts. Firstly, when Maureen's fans came out to attack me in a very viscous manner, it was not nice. Especially some attacked my family. Pia and the other judges have a job to do and they also have their own opinion. They should not receive hate for that. I do not want to see my fans and supporters launching that hate on others as how you had to defend me from that same hate. I am contented and satisfied with the fact that I reached Top 3. And my career after the show is already proof that you do not need to win to be a winner. Onto good and positive things! Please continue to watch and support me! @piawurtzbach ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? #expecttheunexpected #teamgoodgirls #minhtumodel #cotienrangtho #??pt?nhiênnh?ngkhôngt?nhiênmà??p #teamMinhTu #teamVietNam #VietNamonTOP #asntm #asntm5 #asianexttopmodel5 #IloveVietNam #OnlyLoveNoHate #TheFaceVietNam #theface #guongmatthuonghieu

Nguyen shared that she is happy with her placement and that she's keeping her focus on "good and positive things."

Wurtzbach, for her part, clarified that there isn't any bad blood with Nguyen.

Wroblewitz after her win also recounted her encounter with discouragement and bullying, which she declared only made her stronger. — AT/NB, GMA News
