Paraguay and Philippines are neck and neck for the top spot in the online voting of Miss Intercontinental

Don't look now but it's a tight race to number 1 between Philippine bet to Miss Intercontinental Katarina Rodriguez and Paraguay bet Jessica Torres.

Katarina is at the number 2 spot with 84,802 votes in the online voting on the Great Pageant Community website for the Miss Intercontinental pageant, while Jessica is at number 1 with 85, 313 votes — at least as of this writing.

According to the Great Pageant Community, the winner of the online voting will automatically advance to the semifinals and will receive the title "TGPC People's Choice".

On Instagram, Katarina thanked her fans who voted for her writing, "Couldn’t be happier to know that I’m neck and neck for the top spot in the voting of @missintercontinentalorg ! Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat at mahal na mahal ko kayo!Keep on voting!"

Reminds "TGPC", there is no limit to placing votes on the poll, which closes at midnight January 24.

Pre-pageant activities will start on January 10, while the coronation night will be on January 24 at the Sunrise Grand Select Crystal Bay in Egypt.

Katarina is the last Binibini to compete in this year's pageant season. In December, she urged Filipino netizens to vote for her.

Nelda Ibe finished first runner-up at Miss Globe, Elizabeth Clenci second-runner up at Miss Grand International, and Mariel de Leon bowed out early in the Miss International pageant in Japan.

Miss Universe Philippines Rachel Peters finished her stint in the pageant's top 10 in November, while the last  of this batch to compete in 2017, Chanel Olive Thomas, reached the top 10 in the Miss Supranational competition. — LA, GMA News
