Google honors PHL Girl Scouts founder

The US-based search engine pays tribute to the founder of Girl Scout of the Philippines (GSP), Josefa Llanes Escoda, on Thursday.

Google posted a cartoon representation of Escoda, in traditional GSP outfit,  guiding children.

Llanes-Escoda was born on Sept. 20, 1898 in Dingras town Ilocos Norte to Mercedes Madamba and Gabriel Llanes.

She was well-known as a Filipino advocate of women's right to suffrage, a war heroine, civic leader, and social worker. — BAP, GMA News
