Come October, the Philippines may have two crowns courtesy of two strong women.

Miss Globe Philippines 2018 Michele Gumabao and Miss Grand International Eva Psychee Patalinjug will soon be flying off to represent the country in their respective international pageants.

Michele will compete in the Miss Globe pageant in Albania, where the winner will be crowned on October 21.

Eva will be attempting to win the first Miss Grand International title for the Philippines in Myanmar, where a new queen will be crowned on October 25.

An accomplished volleyball player, Michele said that her training as an athlete will certainly come in handy during the pageant.

Although there is no Question and Answer portion in Miss Globe, Michele said that she will still use her eloquence to impress the judges.

"You don't have to be asked a question to be able to share what you're feeling and what you stand for... they will (also) see that in my actions," Michele said during her send-off with Eva on Wednesday, September 19.

Meanwhile, Eva said that she feels fortunate that her advocacy of stopping violence against women and children aligns with the goal of Miss Grand International, which is peace between nations.

"Peace starts within yourself and (then) everything (else) will follow," Eva told the press.

The pair's pageant sisters — Catriona Gray, Ahtisa Manalo, Karen Gallman, and Jehza Huelar — were all in attendance during the send off to wish them good luck.

All four expressed their confidence in Eva and Michele, whom they all described as passionate and disciplined women.
