Cynthia Alexander is working on a new album

On Facebook Monday, indie musician Cynthia Alexander announced she’s back in the studio, working on a new album that people can be a part of, by funding it.

“I’ve gone through a personal sea change that culminated in my move to the Pacific Northwest—and all this time, I’ve been writing songs that reflect my experiences,” she writes on her Indiegogo page.

The US-based Filipino musician continues: “While I’ve self-released my albums before, I’ve decided to try something new this time by asking you to help me funding the recording.”

She’s needs about $10,000 to finish the recording and get the album out by January 2018.

There are several ways fans can help. Options start at $7, which includes a digital download and go all the way up to $200, which includes a physical copy of the album, a digital download, and a personal video greeting.

The catch: She only has 14 days to make it happen.

Cynthia Alexander last released an album, Walk Down the Road, eight years ago in 2009. The singer-songwriter, best known for her single “Comfort in Your Strangeness” was last in Manila in 2015 and held a series of concerts.  — LA, GMA News
