Scenes from the Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival 2018

Hot air balloons from France, Belgium, Australia, Brazil, Spain, Japan, Thailand, and more are scheduled to fly this weekend for the Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival 2018 (LIBF), the highly-anticipated annual event at Lubao, Pampanga.

Aside from the giant balloons, the event has evolved into a grand festival with car shows, rides, Zoocobia, inflatables, Kite Flying, food festival, bazaar, and musical performances by some of the country's top artists.

Rain shower dampened the activities on the first day and the LIBF management was only able to inflate around three balloons, tethered to the ground. The poor weather condition also delayed the inflation of the balloons during the evening.

Still, the organizers estimated that around 13,000 people enjoyed the evening festivities.

Check out some of the scenes from day one.
