Palawan and Cebu among travel magazine's 15 best islands in the world

New York-based travel magazine Travel + Leisure just released its list for 2018 World's Best Islands, culled from a global readers survey, and two of the country's unrivaled islands are in it.

Palawan is at the sixth spot with a 90.4 score, dropping from the top where it sat comfortably last year.

Queen City of the South Cebu also made it in the Top 15, taking the eight spot with an 89.10 score.

"This year’s winners include surprises as well as familiar favorites. The Edenic Philippine outpost of Palawan scored the top spot on this list in 2013 and in 2017...  It remains in fine company, voted in along with its sister island Cebu," the travel magazine wrote on Tuesday.

Indonesia dominated the top three, with Java topping the list with a 95.28 score.  Bali took second  place with a score of 94.06, while Lombok was named third best island in the world with a score of 93.88.

Palawan first won the top spot of the magazine's best island of the world survey in 2013. In last year's list, Boracay was on the third spot. See the top 15 list of winners here. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
