Splash allots P200M to promote new skin whitener

Splash Corp. has allotted P200 million this year to further promote its newest skin whitening product that gained six percent market share just a few months after it was launched. Splash claimed that its SkinWhite 3-in-1 Powerwhitening Face Cream Powder “is the first of its kind in the local market," the company said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). The product moisturizes the skin as a cream and transforms itself into a powder. The SkinWhite brand already dominates the whitening segment for the “body" category with the SkinWhite lotion capturing a 44 percent share and the SkinWhite soap with 48 percent market share. Splash is focusing on creating a new business unit that will engage in direct selling to "fortify the company's hold in the Philippine personal care industry." Direct sales is expected to “enable the company to compete in a much larger arena and fully serve a larger consumer base," it said. “Splash's main objective is to gain substantial share of the P18.2 billion direct selling market thereby creating more value to the company's shareholders," chairman and chief executive officer Rolando Hortaleza said. Splash's brands have penetrated the international markets, including Asia, the Middle East and North America. Brands that have gained strong following include MaxiPeel, Extraderm, SkinWhite, Kolours, Biolink, Baby Spa, Extract, Hiyas, Theraherb, Tricks and Vitress. “Overall, Splash now has a stronger portfolio of products to address the different segments of the whitening category and a bigger consumer base with the addition of an estimated half a million more consumers through the introduction of the SkinWhite Powerwhitening 3-in-1 face cream powder," Hortaleza said. - GMANews.TV
