PAL hiring new attendants for domestic, intl flights

If you have perfect vision and a love for travel, you might just be what Philippine Airlines is looking for. The country's flag carrier has announced that it will be holding a job fair for new flight attendants to serve its domestic and international flights on August 11 at the Diamond Hotel in Manila. The recruitment drive is part of the company's re-fleeting, and as the number of staff to be hired is contingent on the expansion plans, the company said it could not specify at the moment just how many new staff they will be hiring. If you are a Filipino citizen between the ages of 18 and 27 and with a college degree, you meet the minimum eligibility requirements to become a PAL cabin crew member. You must also be single—that is, if you're female. If you are male, it is only "preferable" that you be so. The requirement is a "long-standing" policy, said a company insider, who did not go into exactly why the carrier requires its women staff to be single but not its men. The job fair is open to applicants from Luzon and will include the Philippine Airlines Cabin Crew Recruitment Tour. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on the day. — BM/VS, GMA News
